PIC: Messi fanboys vandalise Ronaldo’s statue in his hometown

If you thought the ongoing war between Messi and Ronaldo fanboys (and girls) was restricted to social media and internet message boards, you’re sadly mistaken.

On the evening that the mecurial Argentine was awarded his fifth Ballon d’Or, some of his ardent disciples decided to make his great rival’s night even worse by vandalising his hometown statue.

But this is what some mischievous Messi maniacs did to it overnight – daubing the Barca man’s name on the back in red paint…

Ronaldo’s sister, Katia Aveiro, was clearly upset by the incident, labelling the perpetrators ‘fatheads’ on Facebook:

“I find the act in itself a dishonour but what I find more shameful is the envy that surrounds him and the rage that some unloved and frustrated fatheads display in public in a disgraceful way which leaves me as a Portuguese person ashamed and sad.”
