The MLS club decided to ‘surprise’ supporters in their promotional video (whisper it but it all looks a little staged to us) but only real shock is quite how rank awful the design is.
Not only does the fluorescent orange detailing jar with the blue of the shirt, but somebody seems to have thrown the NYC badge into a mucky puddle, judging by the weird spiral design.
According to the marketing blurb, the ‘radiating graphic elements’ celebrate the ‘energy of NYC’. We’ve got another description for it – p*ss ripples. Fittingly, Andrea Pirlo is not amused…
