Wayne Shaw has finally discovered his fate after eating a pie during an FA Cup tie with Arsenal last season.
The former Sutton United goalkeeper agreed to resign from his club following a bizarre controversy which saw him accused of a breach of betting regulations in February.
Shaw was on the bench during a fairytale FA Cup fifth round tie with the Gunners and television cameras captured the player, who also worked as goalkeeping coach at the club, eating a pie.

The issue with that was that a bookmaker had created a market for and accepted bets on the possibility that Shaw would eat a pie during the game.
Shaw sat before an independent panel at Wembley on Wednesday afternoon, where an independent heard his argument that it was just “banter”.

The 45-year-old was hit with a two-month ban from all football activity and a £375 fine for his role in the incident.
An FA statement read: “It was alleged the former Sutton United goalkeeper intentionally influenced a football betting market during The Emirates FA Cup Fifth Round tie against Arsenal on Monday 20 February 2017, contrary to FA Rule E5(a).
“The charge, which he denied, was found proven following an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing today.”
Since parting ways with Sutton United, Shaw had been working for AFC Totton, of the Evo-Stik Southern League Division One South and West, as the club’s commercial manager.
