Over in Holland, PSV Eindhoven stand on the cusp of their first Dutch league title in seven years…
A victory away at Heerenveen would be enough to see the title return to Eindhoven for the first time in seven years, denying their great rivals Ajax in the process. Quite understandably, PSV’s hosts this weekend have been getting plenty of attention as the game draws nearer.
When Joey van den Berg, a Heerenveen midfielder, mischievously suggested that ten cases of beer would be enough for his side to throw the match this weekend, he probably wasn’t expecting his throwaway remark to be taken seriously.
Desperate to see their team get over line, a couple of PSV fans decided to double Van den Berg’s jokey request, and turned up at Heerenveen’s stadium with twenty cases of beer…
Update: We staan bij @scHeerenveen waar we fantastisch ontvangen zijn! Joey is blij met z’n kratjes 😉 #Joey10 #PSV pic.twitter.com/xBNWI8qOZn
