Radamel Falcao is going through a hard time of it.
They don’t treat him as well in England as they did on the continent and when the teacher isn’t being nice to him, there’s only one thing for it: tell your granny.
After an unsuccessful spell at United, Falcao somehow got an upgrade and joined the league champions but he has since netted just once for Chelsea and Jose Mourinho didn’t even see fit to include the striker in his matchday squad at the weekend.
So what do you do? Get Mama Garcia on the case.
In an interview with El Universal, Falcao’s grandmother Dona Denis King Garcia hit out at both Mourinho and van Gaal for not nurturing her little soldier properly.
“The truth is that he has had few opportunities to play,” she said.
“At first he was used a lot, but after that he has been used very little; in those 10 or 15 minutes he’s being given he can’t do anything. And so it is very difficult for him. You have to give him more time to do what he does best.
“After the injury he suffered last year before the World Cup he has tried to return and has played some good matches; but I also think the coaches he has worked with have not been explicit with him. You have to show confidence in him because that is the only way he can return like before.”
