The curtain has finally fallen on Raul’s glittering career and fittingly, he finished it by winning another title.
Having left Real Madrid in 2010 for spells with Schalke and Al Sadd, the former Spain international has ended his career in America with a stint at the New York Cosmos.
Helping them to a 3-2 victory over the Ottawa Fury, Raul bowed out of the game as a champion of the North America Soccer League.

Raul, who was ending his career alongside Marcos Senna, another fellow Spanish international, was given the usual send off by his Cosmos team-mates.
