The new Real Madrid kits are fit for European Champions

Decent change shirt and all.

Euro 2016 is done, but football never ends.

Transfer rumours, Europa League qualifiers, embarrassing pre-season friendlies – there’s plenty for the average football fan to sate themselves with.

So let’s have a look at the brand new Real Madrid kit.

This morning saw Adidas unveil the home and away shirts for the 2016/17 season and they’re a bit of alright.

Modelled by Gareth Bale and Marcelo, the new Read Madrid shirts apparently pay homage to a classic Real Madrid shirt from 1902, taking a slightly darker hue of white that previous years.

Add to that a new collar (wonder which player will pop it first? Ronaldo?), and the three trademark adidas stripes (this time coming down from the armpits in Real Madrid blue) and you’ve got yourself a wonderful bit of clobber.

A polo shirt fit for a European Champion almost.

The new Real Madrid away kit is something special too

Modelled by Colombian midfielder James Rodriguez. According to the adidas press release, the purple colour is a tribute the Quinta del Buitre – five homegrown Real Madrid players that formed the core of the side in the 1980s.

The home and away kit will be available from July 2016 from the adidas website and all good sports retailers.

In a strange move, it looks like Real and Barcelona will both have purple away kits next season. Real vs. Barca, Adidas vs. Nike. Purple vs. Purple. El Clasico goes on.
