Cristiano Ronaldo’s bizarre dry spell in front of goal in La Liga continued at the weekend.
Ronaldo failed to find the net in Real Madrid’s 3-0 victory over Las Palmas on Sunday night and he has just one goal in the league all season.
The Portuguese superstar has not scored at home in La Liga this season and has only managed to convert one of his 48 shots in the league since the campaign got underway.
While Ronaldo remains top scorer in the Champions League this term, with six goals from four games, he just can’t seem to find his scoring boots when it comes to the league.
The 32-year-old may not have contributed directly to the scoresheet at the weekend but he did set up Isco for Real’s third goal of the game.

A picture-perfect cross from Ronaldo gave the midfielder a relatively straightforward finish but, according to a report in El Transistor, Ronaldo is none too happy with the fact that Isco didn’t immediately sprint to him to thank him for the assist.
Says here Ronaldo very angry with Isco after Sunday's game, for not coming straight to celebrate with him / congratulate him for assist. https://t.co/LAYFJhD8xN

In the same report from that outlet, whose journalists are known to be close to Real president Florentino Perez, it’s claimed that Ronaldo has a significant bet with two of his club teammates that he will finish this season as Pichichi (La Liga top scorer) although he remains some ways off the pace set by perennial rival Lionel Messi, who already has 12 goals to his name.
Despite Ronaldo’s recent struggles in front of goal, Real captain Sergio Ramos has backed the reigning Ballon d’Or holder to put an end to his drought soon.
“The goals will come for Cristiano and Benzema,” Ramos said after Sunday’s game. “Cristiano goes home annoyed when he doesn’t score. Over the season he will make the difference.”
