For once FIFA’s ethics committee appears to be doing its job, by reportedly recommending Sepp Blatter’s suspension.
Reported by Sky Sports News, a close friend of the FIFA president has suggested that Blatter could be suspended for 90 days – effectively bringing an end to his forty years in charge of world football’s governing body.
It’s worth stressing that as things stand, this is merely a recommendation and the decision needs to be rubber-stamped before Blatter is officially suspended.
To be honest, we wouldn’t be surprised if Blatter is the man who has to do the rubber-stamping.
With FIFA delegates meeting this in Zurich, a formal discussion could be announced before the end of the week.
