How far women’s mixed martial arts has come…
It’s hard to believe that Dana White once proclaimed that women would never fight in the UFC considering the identity of the promotion’s biggest superstar in 2015.
UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey is undeniably the biggest name in MMA right now. The former Olympian is on course to headline the biggest event in UFC history when the promotion heads to Melbourne’s Etihad Stadium on November 15
With that in mind, we perhaps shouldn’t be surprised by Rousey’s claim on the Ellen DeGeneres show that she is the highest paid fighter in the UFC.
While the headline figures may belong to the likes of Anthony Johnson and Conor McGregor, it is conceivable that her endorsements and the money she earns based on PPV points make Rousey the highest earner in the promotion.
