Rory McIlroy always comes across as a likeable guy – whether he’s winning another major, trolling Jose Mourinho on Twitter or saying he’d love to see Sir Alex Ferguson knock out Roy Keane.
On Tuesday, the world No. 3 confirmed his status as a sound man by promising to send a fan one of his personal clubs.
After the cheeky request on Facebook, McIlroy said he was happy to help out another keen golfer – offering him a Nike covert driver.
The lucky recipient was obviously pretty overwhelmed, but McIlroy confirmed he would stick to his side of the bargain – although he couldn’t promise the same level of performance of course…
