As we’ve come to learn in the last few years, Barcelona are quite good at football.
Celtic were well aware of this point as they welcomed them to Glasgow this week, a couple of months on from being on the wrong end of a 7-0 scoreline on their trip to Camp Nou.
Central to all of Barca’s recent successes has been Lionel Messi, who opened the scoring at Celtic Park as the Spanish champions marched on to a 2-0 victory.
Not only did the Argentine send the away side on their way to victory, he also all but retired Scott Brown (or at least that’s what the internet said).
With the game in its closing minutes, Messi picked up the ball on the Barca right. Brown was swiftly on the scene, attempting to close the multi-Ballon d’Or winner down. Lunging in to tackle the diminutive South American, Brown soon realised that his efforts to win the ball were going to fall short as Messi dropped a shoulder and skipped away from him with complete ease.
Knowing that the ball had gone, Brown then appeared to try and take the man. But Messi was already gone. Down crashed Brown, much to the amusement of many watching the game.

Messi making a hyper-aggressive Scott Brown fall over his own lunging tackle will just about do it for me https://t.co/abEf3fD5Gs
