Sergio Busquets is the latest player to be linked with following Pep Guardiola to Man City.
The midfielder is contracted with Barcelona until June 2019, but Man City, who last week confirmed that Guardiola will replace Manuel Pellegrini, are one of the few clubs who possess the requisite financial resources to lure him away from Camp Nou.
He revealed to ESPN that he would be open to a reunion with the manager who helped launch his career at Barcelona.
“I’ve always said that there are only two people that can change my decision to be here. One is my wife, who right now is here and is a Barcelona fan, so I don’t think there is going to be a problem on a personal level.”
“On a sporting level the other person would be Guardiola. It’s clear that I owe Guardiola a lot and for me to work with him would be an honour.”
However, although Busquets would enjoy teaming up with Pep again, he doesn’t think that he’s on his former manager’s radar.
“He knows that this is my club and his too, and that the best for me and the club is that I’m here and I don’t think he’s going to ask for me.”
