Sky Sports have caused confusion with their channel changes

Sky Sports News HQ has a new home

With the Euros done and dusted, the focus of many a football fan will now turn to transfers.

There’s a good few weeks to go before the season starts up again, and Sky Sports News HQ will no doubt be one of regular reference points for any comings and goings in the transfer market.

But as some Sky viewers discovered on Monday, SSNHQ is no longer where you’d expect to find it.

In preparation for their coverage of The Open at Royal Troon, Sky have made a few adjustments to their sports channels. Sky Sports One has temporarily been changed to Sky Sports The Open and the order of the sports channels has also been tweaked, with the channel numbers being changed to the ones seen below:

401         Sky Sports 1 / Sky Sports The Open

402         Sky Sports 2

403         Sky Sports 3

404         Sky Sports 4

405         Sky Sports 5

406         Sky Sports News HQ

407         Sky Sports F1

Yep, Sky Sports News HQ has now moved from channel 401 to 406, a change that caused a bit of confusion amongst those that tried to tune in to the latest sports headlines on TV earlier on Monday.

For many, the channel changing made plenty of sense. There was something logical about Sky Sports One being 401, Sky Sports Two  being 402 and so on…

But as you might expect, not everyone was happy about it…

Better get used to typing 406 into your remote for until the transfer window shuts.
