Someone at the UFC still needs convincing that Conor McGregor is actually Irish

For the second time in a week, the UFC have got in a muddle over Conor McGregor’s nationality.

First, it was the always super-accurate Reebok fight kit that caused controversy. A fan who purchased a Conor McGregor hoodie discovered that a massive USA emblem was emblazoned on the arm.

On Saturday night, they tried to claim him as an American again – but in a slightly more subtle way.

During the coverage of UFC Seoul, there was heavy promotion for McGregor’s upcoming title fight against Jose Aldo at UFC 194. “A Nation Awaits” was the slogan for one of the promos… wrong nation, lads.
