One of El-Hadji Diouf’s former managers has commented on the racism allegations the former Senegal international made about Steven Gerrard.
The ex-Liverpool captain is said to be considering legal action against his former teammate, who reportedly claimed that Gerrard has ‘never liked black people’.
Now, George O’Callahan, who managed Diouf at Malaysian side Sabah, suggests that the comments about Gerrard were ‘lies’ and were made simply because Diouf ‘hated’ the LA Galaxy man.
Through a string of tweets (which can be seen below), O’Callaghan appears to suggest that Diouf had been planning his comments for a while.
‘I can tell everyone it is lies as he [Diouf] told me when I was his manager in Sabah that one day he would say what he said about Gerrard, I ask him was it true and he said no but he hated him,’ O’Callaghan’s tweets explain.
Due to the serious nature of what has been said, it’s safe to say that this won’t be the last we hear on this matter.
