Stevie Gee: Highs and lows of the unmistakable EPL legend

Soccer Guy

Stevie Gee was undeniafiably a big fish in the EPL League pond. But in the week that he made his eagerly anticipized move to LA, the long time Liver Pool guy has been finding that he’s been dunked head first into the ocean of awesomeness that is MLS.

Just another star in the Los Angeles Galaxy, it’s pretty easy to see why the guy in this video didn’t even recognize Gee’s English face.

So – what is the big deal about Stevie Gee? What can stateside soccer fans expect from the new guy at the StubHub Center? To find out, here’s a look back at some of the Mercytowner’s soccer highs and lows.

Euro Soccer Cup victory, 2005

The second greatest soccer moment for Stevie Gee came way back in 2005. Getting their asses kicked real bad at half time out of the Euro Soccer Cup Bowl, Gee’s head kick pumped gasoline into the Liver Ducks’ engine.

After that, some of the most dramatic soccer drama unfolded. First up, the red uniforms tied things up at threes before winning that cup on a deathstrike showdown.

Liverpool Celebrate Champions League Win With Victory Parade

EPL slips away

When it came to winning EPL League titles, Liver Pool were as successful as a fat, ugly kid on prom night.

But in 2014, Gee and the guys were a victory against Chelsea Franchise Club away from pretty much sealing their first English World Championship in a real long time… But Stevie messed up.

With the soccer ball at his cleats, he slipped up. This allowed the Chelsea guy the real estate to go one to one with the goaltender and insert into the soccer goal interior. Liver Pool never recovered and their fans never forgave Gee for his dumbass mistake.

Franchise Association Final cleat rocket

Staring defeat to the Westside Hammers in the face, Stevie Gee unleashed an a-bomb of a strike into the SGI, knotting up the scores. Following the equalization, the red uniforms dominized the game on deathstrikes and took the cup back to Mercy town.

Stevie Gee made a habit of finding the ballbag from faraway land, so Galaxy fans can look forward to witnessing a right cleat like Thor’s Hammer being swung around by Hulk on steroids.

Major felony cards

Sure, Stevie Gee won a whole load of soccer cups and scored a bunch of goalshots, but he also picked up a few major felony cards too.

First time round, a dual cleat lunge against Evertown (pictured below) saw him head for the locker rooms early. His last was for stomping on some Man Unity player. They weren’t his only major FCs against Liver Pool’s two biggest rival franchises. If he can’t keep his head in games like that, you gotta wonder if he can take the heat of a real big game. Keep an eye on him in the California Clasico against San Jose Earthquakes.

Scoring against the USMNT, 2010

Every soccer player can take a look back at their career and pick out the defining moments. Undeniafiably, Stevie Gee’s greatest moment came back in 2010.

The South Africa World Cup was the first to be held in the country, and saw the Three Lines of England facing off against the way superior USA.

Somehow, Gee inserted the opening goalshot of the soccer game, giving the English an unlikely lead. Unfortunately for the King and Queen back home, they could not hold on to the lead. Clint Dempsey’s powerful strike was too hot to handle for the English goaltender and made it ones before the half time show.

Despite this, England Soccer Club held on to a famous tie, and the Gee was carried off by his buddies in celebration at the completion whistle.

After proving he can produce moments like this against America, the soccer world now waits to see if he can go do it some more in America.
