Take That have made these lucky punters a lot of money this weekend

Cheers Gary!

Throw the form book out of the window.

Whilst horse-racing boffins examined every determining factor and possible variable regarding the form, fitness and track record of each horse and jockey at the 2016 Crabbie’s Grand National, newbie punters put them to shame with their own method – choosing a horsy because they liked the name.

The 33-1 shot Rule The World, ridden by 19-year-old David Mullins and trained by Mouse Morris, was of course victorious at Aintree and it seems many of his backers did so for one reason – they are massive Take That fans.

The boy manband released a rousing ballad by the same name in October 2007, from the soundtrack of fantasy film Stardust, and it seems many pop pickers are so fond of the ditty that they chose the similarly monikered race winner because of that reason alone…

Gary Barlow was more than happy to have played an incidental part in the fortunes of others…

Another way of helping people benefit from wealth distribution is obviously by paying your taxes.
