The demolition team have wasted no time at all at White Hart Lane…

Enough to bring a tear to the eye of any Spurs fan...

Not even 24 hours on from hosting its final game, the demolition team have moved quickly at White Hart Lane.

Home to Tottenham Hotspur for 118 years, Sunday’s 2-1 victory over Manchester United was the final game to be played at the stadium with the club set to move to a newly-constructed ground next door in time for the start of the 2018/19 season.

Now, as the aerial footage from BBC Sport shows, those responsible for pulling down the old ground have wasted little time in getting on with the job at hand.

As the outer shell of the new ground starts to take shape, the diggers have already started to get rid of the playing surface at the old ground. Many of the seats have also been wrenched from the terraces and can be seen piled up at the side of (what was until very recently) the pitch.

It’s enough to bring a tear to the eye of any Spurs fan…

The club’s season ticket holders have been offered the chance to buy their seats for £50, although some supporters had other ideas on how to do this…

Spurs play their final game of the season away at Hull at the weekend and will play their home games at Wembley for the 2017/18 season.
