Portugal have arguably the world’s best forward in Cristiano Ronaldo, but can you name their second choice?
Over the years, the Selecção have rarely had the best of the best at their disposal, but the likes of Pauleta, Nuno Gomes and even Hélder Postiga were at least playing at the highest level.
But now, with Ronaldo missing the upcoming friendlies against Russia and Luxembourg and Swansea frontman Éder sidelined through injury, coach Fernando Santos has had to turn to two players from the Championship.
Who could have predicted that in 2015, the two strikers in the Portugal squad would be from Forest and Wednesday? https://t.co/tZo8FrUCdE

Nottingham Forest’s Nelson Oliveira is at least on loan from Benfica, but has never scored a league goal for the Portuguese giants and his last league appearance for his parent club came in 2012.
The only other forward in the current squad is 22-year-old Lucas João, currently in his first season with Sheffield Wednesday.
We don’t anticipate Ronaldo passing the ball to either of the pair once he returns to action…mostly because we doubt he’s aware of their existence.
