When you go by the nickname ‘Vegas Dave’, perhaps this is the kind of bet people might expect you to put on.
Dave Oancea, the professional gambler that won a staggering $240,000 after wagering $20,000 on Holly Holm to beat Ronda Rousey last November, is betting big again.
This time, Oancea has placed a whopping $77,000 (£55,000) UFC 196 co-headliner, Miesha Tate.
Tate is seen as the underdog ahead of her meeting with Holm in Las Vegas on Saturday, but it seems Oancea is undeterred.
Tate confirmed that Oancea had recently contacted her to tell her that his initial bet of (only) $53,000 had been upped.
“He just texted me earlier today,” Tate said when speaking to MMAjunkie Radio. “He said, ‘I’m upping my bet to $77,000.’”
