The most ridiculous ‘ANNOUNCE’ demands that clubs are trolled with on Twitter

"Announce anything, even if it's a goat"

Conan Doherty

Announce anything.

Football fans are an impatient breed so the decision for clubs all over the world to give those supporters direct access to the hotline probably felt like a better idea at the time.

Now, if you’re frustrated or just greedy, you can go straight to the good folk themselves and list them your demands. So instead of the usual announcements like team line-ups and bland quotes from training, the world of Twitter can be heard and they can dictate what they want announced.

It’s gotten out of hand though – things usually do.

During a transfer window, you might as well just not tweet unless you’re going to announce a new addition to your club. And we really mean that in the most literal sense possible.

What started off with real fans genuinely asking for light to be shed on certain issues, the ‘announce’ request became a tool to beat the club over the head with if they even tried to write about anything else on Twitter apart from whatever it was you wanted them to write about.

All summer, any update Manchester United had for their fans only sparked more and more fury and incessant replies of ‘Announce Pogba’. Now, the whole thing has just spiraled out of control.

Manchester United

The manager isn’t that popular anymore either.

Bring me sunshine.

If you know what you want, go out and get it.

For the love of God, do not celebrate van Persie’s career if you won’t acknowledge that he has left first.

Oh, just do one.

Liverpool

Some people are never happy.

But others just get completely carried away.

At least some fans are reasonable.

Others… not so much.

Arsenal

Predictable.

Unpredictable.

More unpredictable.

Manchester City

The impatience.

Tottenham Hotspur

The random.

Chelsea

The what the f**k.

Call them spoiled, brats, or trolls but cherish them. Because, let’s face it, sooner or later, your club declines, the fun stops, you become like Aston Villa and then you don’t even have the energy to ask for anything anymore.

At least we can always rely on United fans.
