Liverpool undoubtedly need to add to their squad this summer.

Jurgen Klopp’s squad was stretched to the limit at times last season. The lack of depth was exposed when key players, such as Sadio Mane or Philippe Coutinho, were absent.

With European football guaranteed next season, Liverpool will undoubtedly need to add quality and quantity to improve on last season’s fourth place.

However, there are still a few players in the squad that Klopp will look to move on.

According to Paul Joyce of the Times, Klopp is hoping to sell three players, including Lazar Markovic.

Watford’s new manager Marco Silva is reportedly considering a £20m bid for Markovic. The pair worked together at Hull City last season, when Markovic was on loan from Liverpool.

The Serbian winger joined the club from Benfica in 2014, for £20m, but failed to convince in his one full season at Anfield, scoring three goals in 33 games. Markovic has never played for Klopp, after spending the last two seasons out on loan. Because he’s still only 23, the club are said to be confident of recouping their original fee for the winger.

Mamadou Sakho, unsurprisingly, is also heading towards the Anfield exit. The French defender got on the wrong side of Klopp on a pre-season tour last summer, and was banished from the first-team.

But Sakho impressed on loan at Crystal Palace, and Liverpool reportedly want £30m for him. The 27-year-old is said to prefer a move to a Champions League team, rather than return to Palace.

Liverpool are also prepared to listen to bids for Alberto Moreno. The Spaniard lost his place to converted midfielder James Milner, and the club are seeking to sign a natural left-back, so Moreno’s days at Anfield look numbered.

According to The Times, Moreno would cost £12m and Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan and AC Milan are interested in signing him.
