We doubt he’s losing any sleep over it.
But only 400,000 pay-per-view units were sold for Floyd Mayweather’s fight against Andre Berto last week, according to Yahoo Sports.
The figures for last weekend’s snorefest, Mayweather’s 49th and final bout, were the boxer’s lowest since 2006, when 325,000 watched him defeat Carlos Baldomir on PPV.
To put the numbers into perspective, 4.6 million PPV units were sold for Mayweather’s previous outing, the much hyped, but ultimately underwhelming fight against Manny Pacquiao.
The negative reaction to that fight is undoubtedly a factor in the low-demand for Mayweather’s bout with Berto.
The boxer retired undefeated, and with $220 million in the bank from the Pacquiao fight, we doubt Mayweather’s too worried about the viewing figures for his final fight.
