Arsenal thrash Hull City, but their fans *still* can’t stop moaning

JOE

Arsenal fans – or at least those that choose to vent their feelings on Twitter – have been a right bunch of moaners lately.

In fairness, you can kind of see where they’re coming from.

Barring a Nou Camp miracle, their Champions League season appears to be over and it after another promising title challenge started to take shape, a couple of defeats have seen Leicester City widen the gap at the Premier League summit.

At least when it comes to the FA Cup, there is still cause for Gooner optimism… isn’t there?

Hull might have taken them to a replay, but a relatively straightforward evening on Humberside for Arsene Wenger’s side saw them reach the quarter finals. A third successive FA Cup triumph is in sight.

Despite scoring four times without reply at the KC stadium, Arsenal’s supporters were still not entirely happy.

The news that Wenger had chosen to rest some of his star players might have raised a few eyebrows at the start of the evening, but the decision to hand Theo Walcott the skipper’s armband thoroughly p*ssed some Arsenal fans off.

The mere sight of Callum Chambers was enough to anger this supporter.

Having lost Per Mertesacker after a clash of heads with Nick Powell, Gabriel and Aaron Ramsey left the field with injury.  With several key players already missing, this was another reason for Gooners to be miserable.

And after all this, a 4-0 win for Arsenal still didn’t stop some of their supporters brandishing an anti-Wenger banner.

Chin up fellas, you could be into the Champions League quarter finals in a couple of weeks….
