Like the changing of the seasons, Arsenal collapses are the kind of thing you could set your watch to.
The Gunners seem to only be able to perform for 12 months at a time – but never for a full season. A slow start to a season seems to guarantee a quick finish for Arsene Wenger’s men as they do just enough to secure Champions League football for another season.
Often, Arsenal will give their fans reason to believe, as they carry that form into the new season and lay claim to the non-existent title of champions of a particular calendar year.
But every action has an equal opposite reaction, and for the Gunners this means that an impressive first half of a season must surely be met by a catastrophic collapse.
In case you hadn’t noticed, that collapse is currently taking place. The North Londoners currently lie eight points behind Leicester, are all but out of the Champions League and now find themselves out of the FA Cup after a 2-1 defeat to Watford.
So just how bad have Arsenal been in recent weeks? It turns out, they’re now their worst home run since before the Invincibles season of 2003/04.

One win in seven matches for Arsenal. Or four wins in 14 if you prefer. It's becoming quite a disintegration

But hey, there’s always fourth.
