If the name Gianluigi Donnarumma doesn’t mean anything to you yet, it probably will do in the years ahead.
Or at least it will if he doesn’t make a habit of doing this sort of thing.
At just 18 years of age, Donnarumma has already clocked up over 50 appearances between the sticks for AC Milan, and is already expected by many to take over from Gianluigi Buffon as Italy’s first choice goalkeeper.
Inevitably, he’s also being linked with a move to England. On Sunday morning, the gossip columns suggested he was attracting interest from Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City – a side that probably could do with a new goalkeeper.
As we all know, Pep Guardiola likes a goalkeeper that can use his feet(just ask Joe Hart), so, with that in mind, what happened after just a few minute’s of Milan’s league game with Pescara on Sunday might just have put an end to any chance of him ending up at the Etihad.
Admittedly, the pass he receives (or nearly receives) from Gabriel Paletta isn’t exactly ideal, but in completely missing the ball, he certainly doesn’t come out of this one too well.
Donnarumma's had a nightmare… https://t.co/un10MN0vUV
