‘You seen him on salads, now watch him on steaks.’
These are the words of Conor McGregor’s coach John Kavanagh – and the SBG man wasn’t f**king joking.
The Notorious has packed on some ridiculous size since he became the UFC featherweight champion against Jose Aldo.
One of the biggest talking points at the Aldo weigh-in was how gaunt McGregor looked 24 hours before the fight.
The weight cut didn’t look like it was doing him any favours – and both Kavanagh and McGregor have pretty much said it has been a slog making the 145lbs cut.
But not having to make that 145lb weight for his lightweight title shot against Rafael Dos Anjos looks like it’s done him the power of good. The difference is incredible.
McGregor said during the press conference that he was on steak for breakfast, steak for lunch and steak for dinner – and he wasn’t joking.
He taunted Dos Anjos saying he was going to ‘bully him’ in his own division – if the Brazilian is following McGregor on Instagram he might just start to believe it.
We’ve never seen the Irishman look so physically imposing as he does in this shot entitled ‘The Silverback’ – and with a height and reach advantage over Dos Anjos, it’s going to be an interesting fight at UFC 197 on March 5.
No wonder he’s eyeing that welterweight strap too.
