Much has been made about Conor McGregor’s move up to lightweight to challenge champion Rafael Dos Anjos.
Dos Anjos himself claims he’s ready to brutally finish the featherweight champion as the trash talking began in earnest.
Other fighters like Donald Cerrone and Ross Pearson have been queuing up to tell The Notorious what a different proposition making the step up from 145lbs to 155lbs really is.
What’s clear is that we’ve never seen Conor McGregor quite as big as he is in this latest training photo.
It’s something that Frankie Edgar’s coach picked up on in a rant at the Dubliner – accusing him of walking around at 180lbs before cutting down to 145 to effectively bully the little guys.
But what’s not up for debate is that we know McGregor can handle himself at lightweight.
After all he held the featherweight and lightweight world title belts simultaneously back in his Cage Warriors days – something he plans on replicating in the UFC on March 5.
But just in case anyone had forgotten, McGregor tweeted a video of what happened to the last man he faced at lightweight.
Talk about echoes of Jose Aldo with that punch…
