Tiger Woods takes 65 shots to prove to the world he is back and he means business

The best type of business.

Tiger Woods is back on the charge as if it’s 2007 all over again.

Woods scorched around the Albany course in just 65 shots (seven under par) to move into the top 10 at the Hero World Challenge.

Having hinted that he was entering the tournament – his first after a long-term back injury had sidelined him – in decent form, Woods carded a +1 round on the opening day.

Today was different. He played like a dream on the front nine and was making his iron sing.

Hero World Challenge - Round Two

Woods came very close to chipping in for an eagle on the 14th and finished birdie, par to get with six shots of leader J.B Holmes.

Naturally enough, the reaction to Woods on the prowl was a heady mix of champagne popping, bad jokes and undiluted excitement.

Shane Lowry was unhappy that he had to miss out

But Sky Sports’ Keith Jackson got back to the Irish pro with a solid excuse

And we simply had to include this

Let’s hope he can keep it up and kick on as we move into the new year.
