Biles had withdrawn from her four other finals in Tokyo.

Piers Morgan has commented on the news that Simone Biles will be taking part in the beam final on Tuesday, saying that she has taken his advice.

Last week, Morgan said that the gymnast could either “listen to snowflake Twitter” or “listen to me.” He encouraged her to “re-engage in these Games, win Gold, & inspire with the power of resilience not resignation.”

After the news broke on Monday that Biles would be competing in the beam final after withdrawing from all of her events so far at the games, Morgan said that she had “taken my advice.”

He said: “UPDATE Simone has taken my advice and will compete in tomorrow’s Beam final. Good luck, Champ @Simone_Biles”

The 24-year-old has not competed since withdrawing from the team gymnastics final last week after her vault performance. She explained that this was in order to protect her mental health.

USA Gymnastics confirmed that Biles would be competing in the beam final in a tweet on Monday morning.

The tweet read: “We are so excited to confirm that you will see two U.S. athletes in the balance beam final tomorrow – Suni Lee AND Simone Biles!! Can’t wait to watch you both!”

Biles won bronze on the beam at the Rio Olympics in 2016.

She won four gold medals at the Rio Olympics but has been unable to defend any of her titles because of her withdrawals. The gymnast has spoken of suffering from a kind of mental block known as the “twisties,” which causes gymnasts to be unable to complete their move.
