Tony Adams is now a La Liga manager but his suit is all anyone can talk about

A bold choice

Darragh Murphy

Tony Adams is back in football management.

The former Portsmouth, Wycombe and Gabala boss has been confirmed as head coach of La Liga strugglers Granada until the end of the season.

Adams takes over from Lucas Alcaraz, who was sacked on Monday after Granada fell to a 3-1 home defeat to Valencia.

With the side in 19th place in the table and seven points from safety, former Arsenal defender Adams has been drafted in in an attempt to manufacture a great escape of sorts.

The 50-year-old will take charge of his first game when Granada host Celta Vigo on Sunday night.

And while it’s an interesting appointment, it was Adams’ choice of ensemble that football fans found most remarkable.

Adams sported a daring three-piece suit which resembled the kind of shower linoleum you might see in your Nan’s bathroom.

Doubters are going to draw comparisons with Gary Neville’s unsuccessful spell in charge of Valencia but, let’s be real here, Neville never had a get-up half as bold as Adams’.

And if this is what he’s wearing on the day that he was announced as Granada manager, we genuinely can’t wait to see what Adams will break out if he manages to keep the side afloat.

Will he wear a hat?

He’ll surely wear a hat!
