It was all a bit too easy for Spain against Turkey in Nice.
3-0 up moments after the break, here was confirmation (if needed) that Spain were actually still quite good, despite what happened to them at the last World Cup.
But who was the stand out performer? Álvaro Morata? He bagged a brace. Or what about Andrés Iniesta? He barely gave the ball away all evening and proved once again that he’s got the eye for a killer pass.
But if Twitter is anything to go by, the star man in Nice was actually sitting in the commentary booth. Tony Pulis accompanied Clive Tyldesley for ITV’s coverage of the match and the West Brom manager’s input was the subject of many a tweet.
While some viewers particularly enjoyed the fact that he said ‘Clive’ over 3,000 times during his stint behind the microphone…
We learnt two things from that first half. Spain are hitting form and Tony Pulis is definitely sat next to a bloke called Clive.

Tony Pulis has tonight broken the world record for the amount of times anyone has said the word 'Clive' during a 90 min period

Others simply did what many of us do when we lie in bed at night: pondered what Tony was wearing.
I wonder if Tony Pulis has got his tracksuit on whilst co-commentating?

Some just wanted to know if he was standing or sitting…
Wonder if Tony Pulis is standing up while commentating on tonight's game? #Euro2016 #SPATUR

And others marvelled at his knowledge of the players on show…
Big fan of Tony Pulis calling Calhanoglu 'Hakan'. Know your limitations.

Undoubtedly, Pulis’ shift was one of the most popular co-commentary performances of the tournament so far. Everyone was impressed…

There is something absolutely brilliant about Tony Pulis commentating on Spain

Clive Tyldesley and Tony Pulis are the new Ant and Dec.

I loved the Tony Pulis commentary so much I've rewinded the last half an hour to soak in one last dose of his commentary 😂

Well, nearly everyone…
What did we do to deserve Tony Pulis on commentary? He is awful #ESPTUR
