Norwich City have appointed Ed Balls as their new chairman.
The former shadow chancellor, a supporter of the club, lost his seat as a Labour MP in the general election back in May.

Although he won’t receive any payment for his new role, Balls seems pretty chuffed about it.
“From the moment my dad first took me to watch from the terraces at Carrow Road in 1973, my earliest ambition was to play for the club,” he explained.
“The next best thing is to become chairman.”
Aside from his career in politics, Balls is also well known for tweeting his own name (and nothing else) in 2011.

With that in mind, guess how Twitter reacted to the news of his new appointment?
