Well that didn’t last long.
Wednesday night saw us jigging around the SportsJOE offices when Dana White told Ohio-based sports reporter Anthony Lima that Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone would be taking on ‘Ruthless’ Robbie Lawler at New York’s UFC 205.

Just two nights later and the UFC president was bursting balloons.
Cerrone vs. Lawler is off the cards, according to TMZ, and it seems former UFC welterweight champion Lawler is the busted flush.
The news was confirmed when Cleveland woke for the big day:
Confirmed TMZ report with multiple sources. Robbie Lawler won't fight at 205. CB Dolloway out of 203 tonight.

Lawler was subjected to a fearsome beating by Tyron Woodley at UFC 201. He did not make it through the first round and received a 45-day suspension from taking any sort of contact.
Cerrone is definitely fit and prepared to fight so the issue appears to be with his opponent.
Last month, Rory MacDonald threw some Performance Enhancing Drug shade at Lawler when he suggested, on The MMA Hour, that he may not have been fighting clean during their war at UFC 189.
Lawler has been very quiet since losing his welterweight strap and has neither come out to refute MacDonald’s sensational claims or address any UFC 205 rumours.
Cerrone has been reportedly assured he will be on the UFC 205 main card. He might just need a new dance partner.
