The grass isn’t always greener on the other side.
For some time now, it has felt like UFC is the only real promotion in the MMA game, but Bellator are quickly staking their claim for British fans’ attentions.
The North American organisation has begun signing some of Europe’s top talents and have even announced their first ever UK event this summer in London.
Bellator have also made waves by prying away some UFC fighters to join their roster, such as Benson Henderson who made his debut at Bellator 153 on Friday night.
The former UFC lightweight champion was given an immediate shot at Andrey Koreshkov’s welterweight title. And although he went the distance with the champ, the 32-year-old lost every round on the judges’ score cards and was defeated by unanimous decision.
Koreshkov, meanwhile, sent out a message to the rest of the division with an impressive display that included a series of nasty looking knees to the face.
