It seems that UFC 200 is about to get its main event.
According to MMAFighting.com, the UFC is set to announce a non-title welterweight rematch between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz for UFC 200 on 9 July.
The fight is set to be officially announced in the coming days.
Less than a fortnight ago Diaz beat McGregor in the second round of their UFC 196 clash via a rear-naked choke and it now seems that the pair will come face-to-face sooner than expected.
The fight was a massive success for the UFC despite coming together just 11 days beforehand, when McGregor’s original opponent Rafael Dos Anjos pulled out through injury.
It eclipsed one million pay-per-view buys and was McGregor first defeat in eight UFC fights, leaving his overall record at 19-3.
Diaz has become more popular than ever since beating the Dubliner, and their rematch will see Frankie Edgar and Jose Aldo forced to wait to take on McGregor.
