Three wins later and Gary Neville is in line for a new Valencia contract…

There’s no way we could have seen this coming a month ago.

Gary Neville’s first six weeks in charge of Valencia were a huge struggle – with a 7-0 humping by Barcelona in the Copa del Rey resulting in fans calling for the manager’s head.

But then Neville managed to get his first La Liga win against Espanyol, and everything suddenly changed.

The former Man United captain saw his side make history in last week’s Europa League with five goals inside the opening 45 minutes, while the weekend brought a third straight victory against Granada.

So dramatic is the turnaround, that the Mirror are now reporting Neville will be offered a two-year deal to become Valencia’s permanent boss.

The deal would end speculation that Rafa Benitez could return to his old stomping ground, while Neville would also be forced to end his role on the England coaching staff after Euro 2016.
