This Vancouver defender has simply has enough of 4-2 defeats and showboating forwards

Kendall Waston was having a bad day. He decided to make things worse.

No-one likes losing 4-2 to close foes, especially during ‘Heineken Rivalry Week’.

Such was the lot, though, for the Vancouver Whitecaps as they went down to Portland Timbers in the Cascadia Cup.

2-0 down within the opening half hour, the Whitecaps grabbed a goal back in the second half only to leak two more. Pedro Morales grabbed a consolation but it was not enough to calm Waston down.

On 94 minutes, the referee blew for full-time but that didn’t stop Dairon Asprilla playing on. The forward, who had teased Watson with some flicks and drag-backs earlier in the match, sauntered out to the right wing and carried on dribbling.

Watson thought ‘Sod that’.

We’re not sure what to make of the nonchalant shrug that followed.

The defender received a straight red card for his transgression while Asprilla lives to fight another day.

This is not what ‘Heineken Rivalry Week’ should be all about.
