You’ve got to hand it to Aaron Ramsey, at least he’s his own man.
The Arsenal midfielder had a very memorable appearance on Sky One’s A League of Their Own on Thursday night, where he set a new world record and unleashed his thoughts on Tottenham.
But the most fascinating part came when the Welshman was quizzed on his footballing idol.
Usually when players are asked this question, they will opt for a familiar name like Zinedine Zidane, Diego Maradonna or George Best. Not Ramsey.
He offered up former Cardiff City captain and Republic of Ireland international Graham Kavanagh as the man he looked up to most as a youngster.
Kavanagh did not have the most spectacular career – although he did score the first ever goal at the Britannia Stadium, for all you pub quiz aficionados – so it’s great to see someone of Ramsey’s stature pay tribute to him.
