Conor McGregor’s ‘fighter of the year’ gong at the MMA Awards was well-deserved after he took the UFC to new heights in 2015.
The Notorious couldn’t be at the event to collect his award, but he sent a video message thanking organisers Fighters Only for the recognition.
Well, actually he sent two video messages.
The first is what you’d expect, apologising that his preparations for the UFC 196 superfight against Rafael Dos Anjos stopped him from making the Vegas ceremony, but the second was a different beast altogether.
McGregor tore into fighters complaining about getting just $20,000 per fight, taking a swipe at Nate Diaz to continue his war of words with the American.
“I heard Nate Diaz couldn’t even afford the flight over to Las Vegas for the ceremony,” McGregor said, before taking aim at countless other UFC fighters.
“Stop holding bitterness deep in your soul, stuck on $20,000 a show and $20,000 a fight,” he added.
“I wipe my arse with that money”
