There was a time when Liverpool fans had very high hopes for Nathan Eccleston.
The Manchester-born forward tore up trees for the Reds at youth team level, before making his full debut for the club as a teenager.
But things didn’t work out for him at Anfield, and he had fallen off the radar of many fans before suddenly rocking up at Hungarian club Békéscsaba.
After signing a permanent deal with the club and proving his match fitness, the 25-year-old made his debut over the weekend.
And Eccleston’s goalscoring form clearly hasn’t deserted him completely, as he rounded the Paksi SE goalkeeper to score the opener in a 2-0 win.
Békéscsaba remain bottom of the Hungarian top-flight, but their first away win since August gives them a fighting chance of survival.
