We said Frank Bruno was looking in great shape, and it turns out there’s a good reason.
The former heavyweight champ was spotted looking in peak condition while training with Ricky Hatton, and it seems the 54-year-old was getting ready for a stunning return to the ring.
Bruno, who retired on doctor’s advice after suffering an eye injury in his 1996 title fight defeat to Mike Tyson, told This Morning he believes he needs to return to the ring.
But Metro reports that the former WBC heavyweight champion, who was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2003, is not guaranteed to receive a British Boxing Board of Control licence.
“I’m going to the gym all the time, working hard…I’ve got to get back into boxing,” Bruno said.
“Is that a good idea? I haven’t got no choice.”
