VIDEO: Frankie Edgar has turned to desperate measures in attempt to secure Conor McGregor fight

Wow

Darragh Murphy

This is … new.

We’ve seen all types of fighter call-outs over the years but Frankie Edgar has had to get rather creative as all hope of a shot at Conor McGregor’s UFC featherweight title seem to be drifting away.

McGregor, who lost on his debut at welterweight at Saturday night’s UFC 196, has hinted at a desire to take on Jose Aldo next in a rematch of their brief UFC 194 meeting.

Coach John Kavanagh has echoed those sentiments, meaning the fall guy in all of this seems to be Edgar, who has grown increasingly frustrated at missing out.

Edgar is clutching at straws and, on Wednesday, ‘The Answer’ posted a bizarre video to Twitter with some lyrics pointed in the direction of his Irish rival.

One, Two, Frankie’s coming for you
Three, Four, You better guard your jaw
Five, Six, Conor doesn’t want this
Seven, Eight, July 9th is the date
Nine, ten, Iron Army until the end

Admirable persistence? Pure desperation? We’ll let you be the judge.
