A couple of subtle digs by both towards McGregor here.
One of the most divisive figures in the UFC, Jon Jones, was approached by MMA journalist Ariel Helwani after the McGregor-Diaz fight at UFC 196 and, while Jones maintained his long-term appreciation for McGregor, he did have a little go at the featherweight champion.
McGregor had recently stated that he was the one-through-nine, pound-for-pound, best fighter in the world.
Jones clearly has different ideas, with the former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion taking to Instagram, with a snap of him and Demetrious Johnson ringside.
It’s pretty clear what he thinks…
You can watch the full interview here, where Jones also discusses Holly Holm’s surprise loss at UFC 196.
Meanwhile, another recent quote by The Notorious came back to haunt him after his defeat to Diaz.
McGregor stated recently that his opponent “makes gang signs with the right hand and animal balloons with the left”. This was in relation to Diaz teaching kids Jiu-Jitsu at the weekends.
Diaz simply posted this in return, post-fight.
