VIDEO: Nate Diaz reveals just how unprepared he was to face Conor McGregor

This makes things even worse for McGregor

Kevin Beirne

We knew Nate Diaz didn’t have a proper camp ahead of UFC 196, but we didn’t know it was this bad.

The American took the fight against Conor McGregor on just 11 days’ notice, finding out about it while in Mexico with some friends.

And while going into such a high-profile fight with less than a fortnight to prepare is challenging enough, Diaz claims he was so ill during his time in Mexico that he couldn’t eat for three days.

Not only did The Notorious have the benefit of a full camp under his belt, his opponent had to deal with some apparent food poisoning before the bout.

It will be interesting to see how the Irishman bounces back.
