Macclesfield Town have form for being creative with money.
The National League Premier outfit famously set up a crowdfunding page in an attempt to finance a bid for England’s Raheem Sterling, but their frugal approach has now extended to match footage.
The Silkmen’s goalless draw with Boreham Wood was not the most thrilling, but they felt they had a duty to fill their fans in on what went on.
But rather than pay for the official video footage, they felt they could do more. Or less, as it turned out.

Without access to the official matchday footage ourselves, we can’t say for certain whether the improvised highlights are more or less entertaining than the game itself, though we can confirm we watched through to the end.
If Macclesfield earn promotion, perhaps they’ll be able to upgrade to a full-size football table.
