Alex Nicholson made sure his UFC debut would be one to remember as he seized the moment at his light heavyweight weigh-in.
The 25-year-old fighter delayed stepping on the scales in front of the cameras so he could get down on one knee and propose to his girlfriend.
Fortunately, she said yes, before Nicholson stripped off, weighed himself and then faced off with his opponent Misha Cirkunov.
It wasn’t to be the perfect fairytale for Nicholson, though, as he was forced to tap out just 90 seconds into his bout on Saturday night.
With Cirkunov holding him in a neck grip, Nicholson’s jaw popped right out of its socket – as you can hear in the video below…

“I heard (the pop) happen, and then right away he started tapping,” Cirkunov said.
“I was just really excited. All the training is working out. The strategy worked out. I’m just really happy with the performance and especially – not just the submission – but I was able to break his jaw. I’m impressed.”
