For crying out loud, Chris. You might well be one of this nation’s most decorated Olympians, but you’re absolutely lousy when it comes to discretely checking your phone.
Chris Hoy bagged six Olympic golds in his time, but having retired three years ago, he’s been working with the BBC this summer as part of their coverage of the Rio Games.
He’s done a grand job, too. Many viewers have praised him for his insight and professionalism.
Really enjoying listening to Sir Chris Hoy and his brilliant analysis of the #Olympics #cycling #Rio2016

As pundits go, Chris Hoy is brilliant. Insightful stuff from a man who's been there and done it.

But during the Beeb’s coverage of the action in the velodrome on Saturday night, Sir Chris let his high standards slip a bit, getting busted checking his phone twice.
On the second occasion, viewers particularly enjoyed his reaction…
Quickly realising he was on live television (thanks to a nudge from Clare Balding), he swiftly hides the phone under a piece of paper on the table in front of him  – grinning like a kid that had just been caught on their phone by a teacher…
Phone away, Chris. You're working . pic.twitter.com/zyYxq3KcXe

Was he sending a text? Was he searching for Pokemon? We don’t know. But judging by the fact he sent the following tweet moments later, our money’s on the fact that he was simply scrolling through Twitter.
Right, that's two strikes tonight. Another and the phone is confiscated.. 😂

Good to see him acknowledge it.
