Following an impressive Euro 2016 qualifying campaign, Wales are closing in on becoming Britain’s top-ranked footballing nation.
Currently second to Belgium in their qualifying group (although only on goal difference), an impressive run of form has seen the Welsh team climb 15 places to 22nd in the FIFA table – just eight places behind England.
They are now officially better than the likes of the USA, Russia and Ivory Coast – the recently crowned champions of Africa.
Very proud to see @FAWales ranked at a record high of 22 today. There's more to come from us!

Scotland have also climbed 10 places and now sit in 29th, with Northern Ireland back in 42nd. Germany and Argentina are first and second respectively, with Belgium now third – their highest ever ranking.
